Alexandra Gough Consulting was set up in 2016, after 18 years of working in people and organisational development for INGOs (international non-governmental organisations) and not-for-profit organisations.
My approach is grounded in my early experience with social enterprises and community based groups where I worked in both formal and informal educational settings in the UK, India, Sri Lanka and Bolivia. From there I moved to the international development sector, managing global talent and skills development programmes for both staff and volunteers.
As a senior consultant with the Management Centre, I led the learning and development consultancy team and worked with a range of fantastic organisations; from the international aid and development sector, health and disability charities, public sector and arts organisations. Work included organisational culture development, leadership development, team coaching, strategy facilitation and organisational change.
I have personal experience of leading and managing intercultural and dispersed teams including four years working with Save the Children where I headed up the Humanitarian Capacity Building team. While at Save the Children I designed and developed the Graduate Certificate of Humanitarian Leadership in collaboration with the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership.
I am a Trustee for the Gender and Development Network (GADN) and of Grace Church Hackney. I hold a MSc in Education, Training and Development of Adults and a Grad Cert in Organisation Development Practice with Roffey Park. I am also an occasional artist/illustrator (with an undergraduate degree in Fine Art).
I am certified in Hogan Assessment Systems and am an associate with the Human Systems Dynamics (HSD) Institute.
